Arrival of the new Mait HR420-800 Drilling Rig

P J Edwards continued with it's strategy to invest in large modern drilling rigs with the purchase of a new Mait HR420-800 back in summer 2021.

The Mait HR420-800 is one of the largest self erecting drilling rigs available on the market and boasts an impressive 42 Tm of available torque on the rotary table combined with a further 80 Tm of torque via a torque multiplier for installation and extraction of segmental casings. Once fully erected the HR420-800 weighs in at 135t.

Since taking delivery, the rig has been busy on jobsites on both sides of the Irish Sea being deployed on contracts such as Lostock EFW near Northwich (UK), Grantham Southern Relief Road in Lincolnshire (UK), Killaloe Bypass in County Clare (Ireland), and Connelly Station in Dublin (Ireland).

As part of the continuous development of the business pre-qualification accreditations in March 2018 P J Edwards (UK) successfully completed the Constructionline Level 3 accreditation process.

Another energy-from-waste plant added to the portfolio

At a new energy-from-waste plant currently under construction in Avonmouth, near Bristol, P J Edwards has successfully completed the design and construction of another complex deep bunker.
