P J Edwards win another Energy from Waste

P J Edwards have recently been awarded the contract to install large diameter foundation piles to the new Energy from Waste plant at the Ferrybridge C Power Station. This time working for Main Contractor, John Sisk & Son. Trial piles have already been installed & load tested satisfactorily. The picture above shows the installation of 750mm diameter contiguous wall piles 18metres deep with full length vibrated in rebar cages. The piles are being installed by one of our heavy duty 85 tonne piling rigs which has to penetrate 14 metres into the underlying Limestone bedrock. The work comprises the installation of over 800 Continuous Flight Auger piles in a contract period of approx. 6 weeks.
